UMass Awards Posthumous Degree To Marathon Bombing Victim Krystle Campbell

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Marathon bombing victim Krystle Campbell's family was presented with Campbell's posthumous degree at UMass Boston's undergraduate commencement Friday.

Campbell's brother, William, was there to accept the degree, a Bachelor of Arts, on her behalf.

Campbell studied Sociology at UMass Boston.

UMass Boston Chancellor Keith Motley presented the degree after holding a moment of silence for the Boston Marathon victims. Motley also announced a scholarship created to honor Campbell's memory.

The funding for the scholarship was provided by a trustee named Richard Campbell, who holds no relation to Krystle.
