Sisters Of Amputee Brothers To Walk The Marathon Route One Month After Bombings

BOSTON (CBS) - Exactly one month after twin bombings near the Boston Marathon finish line killed three people and injured more than 200, family members of two of the injured victims will walk the entire route of the race to raise money toward their recoveries.

Brothers JP and Paul Norden were both seriously injured in the attack. Each of them lost a leg and suffered burns and shrapnel wounds.

On Wednesday morning, the Nordens' sisters Colleen and Caitlin, along with their uncle, Peter Brown will start in Hopkinton on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. and walk 26.2 miles in support of the two brothers.

"In an effort to demonstrate our love, solidarity and encourage healing within our family, we intend to walk the twenty-six miles three-hundred and eighty-five yards to honor and pay tribute to the boys and as a bonus attempt to raise monies for the Norden Brothers Benefit Fund," the family said in a statement. "It is our mission to respectfully seek $26 donations asking for a $1 a mile pledge from as many generous people as possible."
