Two Killed In Head-On Crash With Tanker Truck In Keene, NH

KEENE, N.H. (CBS) — Two people were killed in a fiery crash with a tanker truck Friday morning.

Police say Douglas Farr, Jr., 32, was driving southbound on Route 12 in Keene, New Hampshire just before 10:30 a.m. when the car crossed the center line and slammed head-on into the tractor trailer.

Farr and his passenger Erin Breault, 35, both from Hinsdale, New Hampshire were both killed in the crash.

The tanker, operated by JP Noonan Transportation, was carrying a 5,000 gallons of fuel.

The truck burst into flames. The fire ruptured one of the trailer fuel cells. It took nearly an hour to get the fire under control.

The truck driver, Jeffrey J. Cloran, 54, of Becket, Massachusetts was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The fire damaged power lines running over the highway.

As of 5 p.m., the road remained closed and crews were still working to safely remove the truck.
