Boston Marathon Bombings: Who Is Dzhokhar Tsarnaev?

BOSTON (CBS) - Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured Friday night after a violent manhunt in which his brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed. Police believe he planted two deadly bombs near the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday.

  • Tsarnaev came to this country with his brother Tamerlan from Chechnya in 2000 or 2001
  • He became a citizen of the United States on September 11, 2012
  • Tsarnaev was a student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

  • He was described by fellow students as "a pothead."

  • He received a scholarship from the City of Cambridge to attend high school
  • Worked as a lifeguard at Harvard, according to the Harvard Crimson
