30 Years Later, Samuelson Finishes Marathon Within 30 Minutes Of Her Winning Time

BOSTON (CBS) - Two-time Boston Marathon winner Joan Benoit Samuelson reached her goal of finishing the marathon within 30 minutes of her winning time.

"It was great, I had a lot of support along the course and I really needed it 30 years later," Samuelson told WBZ-TV's Steve Burton.

Samuelson said she set the goal for herself of finishing the marathon under 2:52:43. She finished in a 2:50:37.

"I did it," Samuelson said. "There is a huge amount of support on the course, I love the course."

While not her last Boston Marathon, Samuelson said it was her last time running to beat the clock.
