NH Police Recover $3,200 Diamond Ring Swallowed By Robbery Suspect

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) - New Hampshire police now say they've recovered the $3,200 diamond ring swallowed by a robbery suspect last week.

Police say 52-year-old Ronald Perley walked into Bellman's Jewelers on Thursday, grabbed the ring and tried to run.

When the clerk confronted him, Perley swallowed the ring.

It was all caught on surveillance video.

They obtained a search warrant, and Perley was brought to the Elliot Hospital for x-rays.

Those x-rays, according to police, confirmed he had swallowed a ring matching the description of the stolen ring.

Perley was arrested and charged with felony Theft and Falsifying Physical Evidence.
