$4,000 Flute Left On MBTA Bench Reunited With Owner

BOSTON (CBS) - A $4,000 flute that was found left unattended on an MBTA bench has been reunited with its owner, according to the MBTA Transit Police.

"Owner of flute truly appreciative to get it back," the MBTA Transit Police announced on Twitter.

On March 25, the flute was accidentally left behind on a bench at the Park Street MBTA station. Surveillance video shows an unidentified man walking off with the instrument case.

Officials said a 21-year-old student at Berklee College of Music boarded a Red Line train on March 25 around 11:40 a.m., not realizing she had left the instrument on a bench in the middle platform.

Police provided surveillance photos of the man believed to have taken the bag containing the flute.

Information on the flute's recovery was not available.
