Howe On Toucher & Rich: Track Is The Priority For Jeff Demps

The New England Patriots signed undrafted free agent Jeff Demps in August 2012 on a three-year, $1.451 million contract. The 23-year-old running back spent his rookie season on injured reserve with a leg injury not long after he was signed.

During the offseason Demps has been focusing on his track career and now it looks as if it might conflict with his football career.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich about the Demps situation. If Demps were to participate in the full track and field schedule, he might miss up to a handful of games in the NFL season.

Are the Patriots willing to put up with this lack of devotion to the team? Would they just consider cutting him if he doesn't show up?
