FBI Aids In Search For Missing Brown Student
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The FBI says it's helping Providence police in the search for a Brown University student missing for more than a week.
Spokesman Gregory Comcowich said Sunday that federal law enforcement officials have been helping in the search for Sunil Tripathi since at least Friday.
The Providence Journal reports that Sangeeta Tripathi, the student's sister, says his wallet, ID cards, credit cards and cell phone were found in his room.
He is a philosophy major at Brown who grew up in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He has been living in Providence since 2008 and was on approved leave from the Ivy League school.
The search has expanded outside Providence to Boston, Connecticut, New York and Philadelphia.
Tripathi was last seen in the campus area on March 15.
