Girl Flown To Hospital After Ski Accident At Sugarloaf

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine (AP) — A 16-year-old girl has been hospitalized following a ski accident at Sugarloaf ski resort in western Maine.

Sugarloaf spokesman Ethan Austin says the girl suffered a head injury between 10 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday when she crashed into a tree on the Candyside trail.

Austin says the girl was wearing a helmet and was responsive when ski patrol members responded and brought her down the slope on a sled.

The girl was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital, but Austin didn't know her condition or where she was taken.
