NH Officials Say Dentist Can't Prescribe Drugs
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Board of Dental Examiners is suspending a Hudson dentist's privilege to prescribe painkillers and other medications.
The board issued the emergency suspension Friday.
Attorney General Michael Delaney says there is evidence Dr. Robert Christ was writing prescriptions for controlled substances to some people without a medical basis for doing so. Delaney also said the number of prescriptions Christ was writing — and the quantity and dosage levels of the medications — was excessive.
The board has scheduled a hearing April 8 to determine whether Christ engaged in professional misconduct that would warrant continued suspension of his privileges and possibly disciplinary sanctions.
