Rex Trailer Of 'Boomtown' Remembered At Emerson Memorial Service

BOSTON (CBS) - "New England's Cowboy" Rex Trailer passed away in January but on Tuesday, some of his famous fans came together to celebrate his legacy.

WBZ-TV's Jack Williams and WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Jordan Rich were some of the guests on hand at Emerson College to remember Trailer.

Trailer, 84, was the host of the popular children's television show "Boomtown," on WBZ-TV from 1956 to 1974. The program often included children with disabilities in the studio audience.

Trailer, who lived in Sudbury, was in Florida for Christmas visiting his sister when he came down with pneumonia and went into the hospital.

The Rex Trailer Memorial Fund has been set up to support the causes Trailer championed in life.
