David Ortiz Sent To Have MRI On Both Achilles Tendons

BOSTON (CBS) - David Ortiz's recovery from an Achilles injury last season may have just hit a speed bump.

The Red Sox sent the 37-year-old Ortiz to have an MRI on both his Achilles tendons after he experiences soreness there.

Doctors are hoping that the soreness isn't due to the long time DH's recent increase in running activities this past week.

Ortiz hasn't played since last summer, but was hoping to rejoin the team and end his career with a Boston World Series.
