Athletic Director Cory McCarthy says he suspected something was wrong when he watched his star player DeAndra Humphries fall to the ground without hitting her head.

Humphries had been poked in the eye by a rival player.

"I really questioned why she was taken out of the game," McCarthy told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe. "I felt something was wrong."

McCarthy took Humphries to the hospital were a doctor confirmed Humphries did not sustain a concussion.

"It was just heartbreaking because my season is over now," Humphries told WBZ NewsRadio.
