Cape Cod Man Arrested In Theft Of 18,000 Pills From Pharmacy
BARNSTABLE (CBS) – A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately 18,000 pills from a Cape Cod pharmacy.
Ronald Kimball Jr. was arrested Wednesday after police searched his West Yarmouth home and a storage container in Dennis. The pills were allegedly stolen from Apothecare Pharmacy in Hyannis during a major winter storm earlier this month.
The street value of the drugs, which included painkillers such as Oxycodone and Oxycontin, is approximately $500,000.
Detectives also identified Kimball Jr. as a suspect in the theft of a vehicle in Holliston, and a late-night robbery at a jewelry store in Quechee, Vermont. Both incidents happened within the last week.
Police believe other suspects were involved in the thefts.
Kimball Jr. faces several charges including breaking and entering, and drug trafficking and possession with intent to distribute. He was held on $25,000 bail.
