Reward Fund Established To Catch Person Who Shot Dog In NH

RAYMOND, NH (CBS) - There may soon be a reward to try and catch the person who shot a dog in New Hampshire.

Last week, the McGee family returned to their home in Raymond and discovered their 11-year-old black lab, Sable, was missing.

They found her out back, shot, with a bullet lodged near her heart. She had to be euthanized.

The New Hampshire Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is now setting up a fund to create a reward to find Sable's killer. CLICK HERE for more information on the fund.

The NHSPCA says, "Sable's story is a terrible tragedy and we hope that by offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of perpetrators of animal cruelty, we can honor her life, and let criminals like this know that they will not get away with crimes of this nature."

Police say the person responsible could face felony charges. If you have any information about the shooting, please contact the Raymond Police Department at (603) 895-4747.
