Patriots Hold Fan Day In Advance Of AFC Championship Game

FOXBOROUGH (CBS) - Hundreds of fans showed up at Gillette Stadium on Saturday for a day of special events the day before the Patriots compete in the AFC Championship.

For $25, fans were able to walk on the field and take pictures with Patriots legend Kevin Faulk. The three-time Super Bowl Champion, and honorary Patriots Captain for the game, greeted fans and posed for pictures with a past AFC Championship trophy.

"It was an opportunity to meet the fans again and show them appreciation," said Faulk.

At the Patriots Pro Shop, busloads of kids stopped in with the Boys and Girls Club to gear up for the game and kick off the Raytheon "Science of Sports" Science Fair.

Others show Patriots pride from their own front yard.  John Malone decks out his Route 140 home with a collection of New England creations, including a PVC pipe field goal, a fog-spitting super Patriot, pinwheels and flags.

"It almost is a good luck charm. And a crazy good luck charm. Just to make sure they go back to the playoffs and go back to the Superbowl," said Malone.

The good luck charm must be working; of the 11 years Malone has decorated his yard for the playoffs, the Pats have appeared in 7 AFC Championships. He's hoping for at least one more win and another chance at a Super Bowl.

"Brady, Belichick, and the Patriots have played hard for a long time and have rebounded from so much. I think if they win this one, this is the best Super Bowl. This is the one."
