Report: Gronkowski Out For Rest Of Postseason With Arm Injury
BOSTON (CBS) - Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will reportedly miss the rest of the postseason after breaking his left forearm in New England's 41-28 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Gronkowski left in the first quarter against Houston after re-injuring the forearm he fractured back on November 18. He missed five weeks after undergoing surgery following the initial injury, and reports surfaced during the second half of Sunday's game that Gronkowski would require another surgery -- costing him the rest of the postseason.
The two-time Pro Bowler suffered the injury while bracing himself after catching a pass out-of-bounds. Gronkowski was shown on the Patriots sidelines in obvious pain before retreating to the locker room. It was the only pass that went his way during his brief sting on the field.
Gronkowski appeared in New England's regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins, catching two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown, but had a large wrap covering his entire left forearm. The wrap was back on Sunday, but once it came off while Gronkowski grimaced on the bench, it was clear any update would not be a good one.
Despite missing five weeks during the regular season, Gronkowski still led Patriots receivers with 11 touchdowns.
