BOSTON (CBS) – Boston College’s Jerry York is now above everyone else when it comes to winning in college hockey.
With the top-ranked Eagles’ 5-2 win over Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday night, York became the NCAA’s wins leader with career victory number-925.
York is now 925-558-41 in his 41 seasons on the bench, to go with his five national championships. He has won four national titles with Boston College, leading the Eagles to championships in 2001, 2008, 2010 and 2012, in addition to one he earned with Bowling Green in 1984.
Under York, Boston College has been to 10 Frozen Fours and nine Hockey East titles.
Boston College will celebrate York’s milestone win on January 18 with “Jerry York Night” when the Eagles host UMass.
