NH Man Accused Of Burning Boy Pleads Not Guilty

BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man police say beat and burned his girlfriend's 3-year-old son last month before fleeing and being captured with her at a Florida theme park has pleaded not guilty to felony charges.

Bail remains at $500,000 for 27-year-old Roland Dow of Plaistow.

Dow is charged with multiple counts of assault and child endangerment in the burning and beating of 3-year-old James Linscott. Dow pleaded not guilty Monday in Rockingham Superior Court.

Police say Dow struck the boy in the head so hard he caused traumatic brain injury and seizures. The boy's mother, 23-year-old Jessica Linscott, is charged with multiple counts of child endangerment for failing to get medical treatment sooner.

Linscott and Dow were apprehended Nov. 28 at Universal Studios, after fleeing New Hampshire to avoid police questioning.
