Boxborough Man Accused Of Dumping Hot Coffee On Ex-Girlfriend

BOXBOROUGH (CBS) - A Boxborough man accused of dumping a pot of hot coffee on his ex-girlfriend is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say they responded to a home on Codman Hill Road Friday morning for a reported domestic disturbance.

The victim told officers that her ex-boyfriend, Bryan D. Fernandes, began arguing with her because she had not made him a cup of coffee.

At one point, Fernandes, 23, allegedly picked up the carafe, which contained hot coffee, and dumped it over the victim.

Police say the woman was treated at the scene for burns on her back and shoulder.

She declined to go to the hospital.
