Police ID BU Student Killed By MBTA Bus

BOSTON (CBS) - Police have identified the 21-year-old Boston University student who was hit and killed by an MBTA bus Monday night.

Chung-Wei Yang died after he was struck by a bus on Brighton and Harvard Avenues shortly before 7 p.m.

According to police,  the preliminary investigation shows Yang did come in contact with the bus.

Police also say there is no indication the driver or any of the passengers knew anyone was struck at the time. The bus continued on after striking Yang.

No charges have been filed against the driver but he has been taken out of service.

The driver is a 58-year-old man who has six years of service with the MBTA.
