Patriots Introduce Aerosmith Before Free Allston Concert

ALLSTON (CBS) – High-profile members of the New England Patriots introduced Aerosmith before their free concert in Allston on Monday afternoon.

Quarterback Tom Brady, linebacker Jerod Mayo, Patriots owners Robert and Jonathan Kraft, and the team cheerleaders all lined up before the band's free concert on Commonwealth Ave, and sent them into their set with some very kind words.

"(Aerosmith is) a rock and roll band that showed Americans that great blues based rock could be made right here in the United States, and the five men who did it were just like the pilgrims that came here.," said Jonathan Kraft."They created rock and roll for America."

"Since we bought the team 19-years ago, Aerosmith has been very close to the Patriots," added Robert Kraft. "Steven Tyler sang the National Anthem in 1994, our first year. He came back and sang it at the Championship game before the Super Bowl; he flew across the country and back. We hope the whole team can do it this year before our championship game at home."

The Patriots ensemble presented each of the band members with a game-used football from their 2011 AFC Championship game prior to the concert.

The free concert was billed as a "pre-election day party," but also comes the day before Aerosmith releases their new album "Music From Another Dimension!"

The band performed in front of their old apartment at 1325 Comm. Ave.
