Quincy Mural Blending Obama and Jimi Hendrix Vandalized

QUINCY (CBS) - A mural that's been getting a great deal of attention in Quincy was vandalized earlier this week.

The painting, which blends the images of President Barack Obama and Jimi Hendrix on the side of The President's Rock Club, was splashed with white paint early Tuesday.

The mural had become a source of controversy after the city said it must be taken down because the owner of the building did not get a sign permit.

Earlier this week, the mayor said the mural can stay as long as the owners get the appropriate permits.

One of the owners told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens that because the paint was latex and it was raining, it wasn't too hard to clean up the mess.

"I'm not planning on voting for the president but I like the art work," a passerby said. "Lighten up folks."
