Doctor In Child Porn Case Agrees Not To Practice

BOSTON (AP) — The Massachusetts physician facing a child pornography charge who once worked as medical director for Phillips Academy in Andover has agreed not to practice medicine for now.

A spokesman for the Board of Registration in Medicine says the agreement is meant to protect the public while the board investigates a complaint against doctor Richard Keller.

The board took action in the case at a Wednesday meeting.

The 56-year-old Keller, of Andover, is in federal custody following his Sept. 13 arrest on one count of receiving child pornography.

Authorities say he received some on the Andover school's campus before resigning his job in 2011.

Keller works at Children's Hospital in Boston and is an instructor at Harvard Medical School. Both put him on leave after his arrest.

Keller's lawyer couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
