No Red Sox Fans Take Advantage Of "Jersey Drop"

BOSTON (CBS) - With the Red Sox back in town after the disastrous road trip that followed the trade of Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez to the Dodgers, the Cask 'n Flagon offered fans a chance to dump the former players' jerseys

The Cask 'n Flagon, a bar located right behind Fenway Park, said they were, "providing a public service by giving Red Sox fans the chance to free up valuable closet space."

There was a cardboard box marked "Jersey Drop" right on the merchandise counter. Any fan that dropped off their jersey would get 50% off Cask 'n Flagon merchandise.

But it seems the jerseys are sticking around, even if the players are long gone.

"They're great players," said one man.

Not one jersey was dropped off during the event before Friday night's game.

A few people did sign a card to Dodgers co-owner Magic Johnson, thanking him for taking on the expensive contracts. Most cited the basketball rivalry between the Lakers and Celtics, writing, "Larry Bird was better."
