CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire police say a passenger was killed when a stolen car crashed following a police chase early Sunday.

State troopers joined police from Tilton and Northfield in pursuit of the stolen 2012 Chevrolet Impala before it crashed into trees at Exit 17E on Interstate 93 in Concord.

Police say the passenger, 19-year-old Paige Garneau of Laconia, was taken to Concord Hospital where she was pronounced dead after the 2:52 a.m. crash.

Troopers say the driver, 18-year-old Robert Pitts of Weare, will face criminal charges. He was hospitalized with injuries that were not life threatening.
