Hart On Toucher & Rich: Solder 'Key To Patriots'

Monday night the New England Patriots play their second preseason game as they host the Philadelphia Eagles at Gillette Stadium.

Andy Hart from Patriots Football Weekly spoke with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich about the second preseason games and what we should watch for Monday night.

"Well first of all I don't think you're going to see a lot of the starters, so if you're expecting to see Brady, Brandon Lloyd and Rob Gronkowski you're probably going to be disappointed because of this schedule coming up -- three games in ten days -- they're probably going to let those guys sit out."

Hart thinks that the offensive line will be big factor to watch in Monday night's game.

"You can't rest all those guys, so I'm guessing you're going to see some semblance of guys that are going to be part of this offensive line. Can they be better? If Logan Mankins makes his debut does he make a difference? If Nate Solder is out there can he be better because to me Nate Solder, I don't want to be over dramatic, but he could be the key to this football team. I mean they don't have a backup left tackle in my opinion and if he can't play, if he's letting guys free towards Tom Brady this whole record-setting, high scoring offense goes down the tubes."

Running back and kickoff returner Jeff Demps signed a contract with the Patriots on Friday. Demps won the Olympic silver medal in the 4x100 relay in London this year. Are we going to see him in this game and what expectations does Hart have for Demps?

"Well you won't see him tonight, you can't by rule," said Hart. "He has to go through the couple of days of practice with no pads on, sort of acclamation period that's in the new CBA. I want to see this guy run."

Plus, if Chandler Jones continues his great play through the preseason will he start come Week 1?
