2 Killed In Possible Wrong-Way Crash On Route 24 In West Bridgewater

WEST BRIDGEWATER (CBS) - Two people were killed in a crash on Route 24 in West Bridgewater early Sunday morning.

In all, three cars were involved in the accident at around 4 a.m.

Authorities said a female in her late teens from Southeastern Mass. and a man in his mid 40's died in the crash. Both victims were in separate vehicles. Their identities were not released.

Other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

Police believe one of the cars rolled over and caught fire. Early information also indicated to police that the vehicle driven by the teen girl was traveling the wrong way down the highway before the crash.

For a time, all northbound lanes of Route 24 in that stretch were closed.

As of 10:35 a.m., all lanes on both sides of Route 24 were reopened.
