Woman Dead After Mass. Pike Crash In Charlton

CHARLTON (AP) — A 26-year-old Worcester woman is dead and two men are hurt after a single-car, rollover crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

State police say their preliminary investigation indicates the woman was driving the car when the accident happened in Charlton at about 11 a.m. Monday.

Police say she was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, where she died. A 24-year-old man from Worcester and 27-year-old man from Millville were being treated at UMass Medical on Monday night.

Police said the car rolled over in the westbound left lane, ejecting one person and trapping another person who had to be extricated.

Police didn't release the names of the victims. No further details about the crash or information about the condition of the two survivors was available Monday night.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
