Mayor Menino Reads 'Make Way For Ducklings'

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Mayor Tom Menino helped kick off the 31st annual Boston Harborfest on Friday at City Hall Plaza.

Keeping with tradition, the mayor read the iconic Boston book "Make Way for Ducklings" to more than 300 children and families for Harborfest Children's Day.

It's a tradition Mayor Menino says he's done a gazillion times – but that doesn't mean it gets any easier.

As the story goes, Mrs. Mallard laid eight eggs. The ducklings' names are in alphabetical order; Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack.

But saying their names over and over can make one's tongue waddle.

"All those guys," the mayor quipped after reading their names over and over.

In the end, the children gave the mayor a big applause.
