Bergeron Wins Selke Trophy For NHL's Top Defensive Forward

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron has won the Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward.

Bergeron beat out Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk and St. Louis' David Backes to win the trophy for the first time. The NHL Awards were held in Las Vegas Wednesday night.

Bergeron had 22 goals and 42 assists this season.

This was the first time Bergeron was nominated for the Selke Trophy. He is the first Boston player to win the trophy since Steve Kasper in 1982.
