Sister Calls Catherine Greig The "Good" Twin In Letter To Judge

BOSTON (CBS) - Catherine Greig's twin sister is providing a new glimpse into their life growing up in South Boston. It's all in a letter Margaret McCusker wrote to the federal judge who sentenced Greig to eight years in prison.

"I always viewed Cathy as the 'good' twin," she says in the letter. She says the two grew up in a home with an alcoholic father.

The letter also talks about the famous mobster Greig ran off with for 16 years. "Knowing Jim Bulger myself, I can say that he could be a very charismatic, charming person." The letter goes on to say, "Many women fall prey to being attracted to the wrong kind of guy."

Relatives of Bulger's alleged victims say they're not falling for McCusker's tale of woe. "We all fall for a lot of things and find out in life that that isn't the road or the thing we choose to do," says Steve Davis. Bulger is charged in his sister's murder. He says Greig and McCusker were well aware of Bulger's misdeeds. "They knew. Everybody in South Boston knew."
