BOSTON (CBS) – Last year, Denis Asselin’s 24-year-old son took his own life.

The 24-year-old suffered from a body dysmorphic disorder.

In his son’s honor and memory, Denis walked from Philadelphia to Boston, a distance of 525 miles.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Kim Tunnicliffe reports.

Along the way, he visited schools, clinics and medical facilities to spread the word about this disorder.

In addition to raising awareness, he has also raised $17,000 for research.

His walk came to an end Thursday in Boston, but his efforts will not end.
