Roche Bros. Co-Founder Pat Roche Dies At 83

BOSTON (CBS) - The co-founder of Roche Bros. passed away over the weekend at the age of 83.

Pat Roche and his brother Bud started Roche Bros. Supermarket as a single store in Roslindale in 1952.

From there, his chain expanded throughout the state and now boasts 18 stores.

Pat Roche is remembered as a philanthropist as well, and a proud and generous alumnus of Boston Latin and Boston College.

"Pat Roche proved that to be a good business person and a good human being are not mutually exclusive," said the family, in a statement.

Visiting hours will be held Monday in Marshfield.
