Police Officer Hit By Car In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) - A police officer was hit by car in Boston Wednesday evening.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. on Commonwealth Ave near the Boston University campus.

The officer's injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

The officer had a radar gun and was attempting to stop the car for speeding.

The driver of the car pulled over but says he was unable to stop because his brakes failed.
