BC Hockey Gets No. 1 Overall Seed In NCAA Tournament

BOSTON (CBS) – After capturing the Hockey East championship this weekend, the Boston College Eagles have earned the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Eagles, playing in the Northeast region, will open the tournament Saturday against Air Force in Worcester.

Boston College finished the season 29-10-1 and is heading to their 31st NCAA Tournament in school history. They are currently on a nation's best 15-game winning streak.

The Boston University Terriers were named a three-Seed in the West Region, and will play two-seeded Minnesota Saturday at 5pm in St. Paul, Minnesota.

UMass-Lowell was named a three-seed in the East Region, and will take on Miami at 6:30pm in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The Frozen Four will be held in Tampa on April 5 and 7.
