A league source told the Boston Globe Lloyd and the Patriots were “close’’ to coming to a contract agreement.

Lloyd played for New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels in Denver and St. Louis.

The Globe also reported free agent safety LaRon Landry was expected to arrive in Foxboro this weekend for a visit.

Landry missed 15 games the past two seasons because of an Achilles’ injury.
