Home Care Worker Accused Of Stealing $23K From 97-Year-Old

YARMOUTH (CBS) - A woman who was supposed to be taking care of a 97-year-old woman is now accused of stealing as much as $23,000 from her.

Police in Yarmouth say 35-year-old Laurie Souza of Harwich was hired as a Home Health Care Aid for the victim.

The victim's daughter recently reported to police that someone had emptied her checking account over the past few weeks.

Souza was arrested Thursday evening and charged with bank fraud and stealing from a person over 65.
