Patriots' Fletcher Fires Back At Tweets From Steelers' Harrison, Clark

BOSTON (CBS) -- Ask any football player in the world, and he'll likely tell you he'd prefer playing in the Super Bowl rather than watching from home, even if that means losing the big game.

Patriots linebacker Dane Fletcher suffered that loss on Sunday, but despite the setback, he has some advice for critics who felt like chiming in after the Giants won.

"Hilarious how some people judge others, calling them 'cheaters' when they are amongst the top in the league for dirty plays #growup," Fletcher tweeted on Wednesday morning.

While he didn't reference Steelers linebacker James Harrison or safety Ryan Clark by name, it's safe to guess it was their tweets that prompted this response.

"Told you, cheaters never win!!!!!!!!!" Harrison tweeted Sunday night.

Clark also tweeted in celebration of the Patriots' loss.

"0-2 post spy gate! Just saying!!" Clark said.

Fletcher had one tackle in Super Bowl XLVI after recording 32 in the regular season.

Clark was fined this past season for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Ed Dickson and also for a late hit on Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Harrison was fined $125,000 for dirty hits in the 2010 season, and he was suspended for a game in the 2011 season for a helmet-to-helmet hit on quarterback Colt McCoy.
