Community Raises Money For Weymouth Boy Battling Rare Disorder

BOSTON (CBS) - A seven-year-old boy suffering from a rare disorder that only 500 kids have is now fighting for two things: Attention to the disease and money for research.

Thomas Archibald of Weymouth has some good folks in his fight including his parents, his community, and his school.

So far they've raised $75,000 to help fund research on his disease.

Only one researcher is studying nonketotic hyperglycinemia.

Thomas' parents wrote to WBZ to say how proud of their community they are and to spread the word.
