Police Increase Patrols After Attack Of Dog Walker Near Jamaica Pond

JAMAICA PLAIN (CBS) - A woman out for an early morning walk with her dog was attacked from behind in Jamaica Plain on Monday morning.

The attack happened just after 5 a.m. near Jamaica Pond.

A man passed by the woman and then quickly turned and tried to grab her.

She was able to turn on her flashlight and scream, startling the attacker, who then ran off.

WBZ-TV's Diana Perez reports.

The suspect was described as a black male, dressed in dark clothing. The victim said he was about 6'0" tall and weighed 200 pounds.

The woman was not seriously hurt.

Police have beefed up patrols in the area in response to the attack.
