Phantom Gourmet: Top 4 Restaurants Of 2011
BOSTON (CBS) - It's been a delicious year for the Phantom Gourmet and to recap, Dan Andelman counts down with the top four restaurant reviews of 2011.
EVOO in Cambridge is a small neighborhood bistro tucked into a modern, industrial space in Kendall Square. The menu of new American cuisine reads like a who's who of pedigreed farming, name-checking every meticulously sourced ingredient, which helped give EVOO a total score of 86 out of 100.
Not far away, Area Four is a sleek urban cafe with a stylish decor of steel, wood, and polished concrete. Phantom's favorite dishes were the mustard-crusted bluefish and the Wellfleet clam pizza boasting a crackling, lightly charred crust with pecorino, hot pepper, and parsley.

And in a tie for the top score of the year, East By Northeast in Inman Square achieved a score of 87 for their hand-crafted, pan-Asian tapas, gourmet dumplings, and housemade noodles.
Grace in Portland, Maine also topped the list, serving new American comfort food in a renovated gothic revival church. Some of the standouts here include the bone-in tenderloin and the pan-roasted cod.
