BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics are sending Glen "Big Baby" Davis to the Orlando Magic, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

The Celtics would land forward Brandon Bass in the sign-and-trade deal, which is still pending league approval.

Known as an undersized power forward, Bass averaged a career high 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds per game for the Magic last season. Over his six-year career, Bass has averaged 7.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest.

"Big Baby" became a favorite in Boston after an inspiring rookie season. Davis helped Boston to their 17th NBA Championship, and earned the reputation as a big-time playoff player when he averaged 15.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in the playoffs the following year. In 2008-09, he had to step in and start for an injured Kevin Garnett, as the Celtics lost to the Magic in the second round.

Bass was drafted in the second round of the 2005 NBA draft by New Orleans out of LSU, and was teammates with Davis on 2004-05 Tigers. He has two-year stints in each New Orleans, Dallas and Orlando. Bass has played in 28 playoff games, including six starts, averaging 7.7 points but just 3.9 rebounds.

Bass has one year remaining on his current contract for $4 million, with a player option for $4 million in 2012-13.
