For the third year in a row, Highland Dental Group offered to buy up Halloween candy from kids at a one dollar per pound.

"When we collect the candy, we're handing it over to Operation Gratitude and they send it to the troops overseas and we're also including toothbrushes so that their teeth will stay healthy," Highland's Debbie Kelleher told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.

Kelleher said they're finding that more kids are willing to get rid of their candy each year.

"It gets the candy out of the kids' mouths and hopefully helps keep their teeth healthy and gives a little taste of home to the boys and girls overseas," she said.
