'Daddy's Junky Music' Shuts Down All Stores
BOSTON (CBS) - "Daddy's Junky Music" has shut down all of its stores in New England after nearly 40 years in business.

A manager answering the phone at the Daddy's in Dedham told WBZ-TV all of the company's stores closed for good as of 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Local musicians and people in the event-planning industry have been buying and trading in equipment at Daddy's since the 1970's.
Daddy's had 20 stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont.
A note from the general manager on the door of the Back Bay store read:
"After 40 years of service to the Boston music community, we are very sad to say we are closing our doors for the last time. Thank you for supporting Daddy's."
Daddy's founder Fred Bramante said his business was crippled by Internet sales where they don't have to collect a sales tax, saving customers money.
Ironically, Bramante's business took off in 1972 because was it based in New Hampshire and customers didn't have to pay sales tax.
