Theo Thanks Fans With Full-Page Ad

BOSTON (CBS) - Former Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein took out a full-page ad in the Boston Globe on Sunday to thank fans.

"It's been a privilege to be a part of the Red Sox for the last decade and an honor to work alongside some of the most talented and dedicated people in baseball. I'm proud of all we accomplished together," Epstein said in the ad.

Epstein, who resigned as Sox GM on Friday night, will be officially introduced as the Cubs new President of Baseball Operations on Tuesday. The Sox, meanwhile, will introduce Ben Cherington as the team's GM on Tuesday as well.

"Thank you to the players, the coaches, and to Tito for their tireless effort and for redefining what it means to wear the Red Sox uniform," Epstein wrote.

Epstein also thanked fans for supporting The Foundation To Be Named Later, a group founded by Epstein and his twin brother Paul that helps support non-profit organizations.

"Thank you for 10 incredible years. Go Sox," Epstein wrote.

Epstein, a native of Brookline, won two World Series Championships with the Red Sox in 2004 and 2007, the first of which ended an 86-year title drought for the team.
