NH May Nix License Requirement To Carry Gun

CONCORD, NH (CBS) - New Hampshire is considering a bill that would let people carry a gun without having to get a license.

A house panel has approved the bill that lets anyone carry a weapon without a permit, except for people who are mentally ill or convicted felons.

Advocates say the US Constitution is the only permit someone really needs.

Opponents, including law enforcement say a law like this could have disastrous consequences.

To become a law, the bill would still have to pass the full house, senate and the governor.
