BC Hockey Comes To The Sports Hub

College hockey makes its way to 98.5 The Sports Hub. The Sports Hub announced today an agreement to broadcast a select series of Friday night Boston College Hockey games during the 2011 – 2012 season. These games will be broadcast live on 98.5 The Sports Hub, online at www.cbsbostonsports.com, and on the CBS Boston mobile app available for iPhone and Android.

The broadcasts will debut with The Boston College Eagles vs. The University of Denver Pioneers, Friday night October 14th at 7:30pm, live from Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
Boston College won its record 11th league regular-season title after finishing its conference
schedule with a 20-6-1 record last winter. The title marked the program's fifth Hockey East regular-
season championship under head Coach Jerry York. BC captured four regular-season titles in five years
from 2000-01 to 2004-05. With its 5-3 win over Merrimack in the Hockey East championship
game, Boston College earned its league-best 10th Hockey East Tournament title, including its eighth under Coach York.

Ryan Johnston spent nine seasons as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Lowell Lock Monsters/Devils. He was awarded Best Play-By-Play by the Massachusetts/Rhode Island Associated Press in 2002, and was selected as a member of the AHL All-Star Game broadcast team on three occasions. Ryan also spent 4 seasons as the voice of the Lowell Spinners. On weekends, Ryan can also be heard covering sports on 98.5 The Sports Hub. A native of Philadelphia, Ryan has a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Ken Hodge, a BC star in the mid-1980s, begins his 12th year as the color analyst. He still holds the
BC record for assists by a freshman (44) and ranks among the top 25 on the career scoring
list. After leaving the Heights, he enjoyed a four-year career in the National Hockey League,
including two years with the Boston Bruins.

"We're extremely pleased with our new association with 98.5 The Sports Hub. The Sports Hub is home to the Bruins, Patriots and Revolution and to have them broadcast a number of our games is great for our hockey program." Said Jerry York, Boston College Hockey Head Coach.

"We are very excited to be partnering with Gene DeFilippo, Jamie Di Loreto and everyone at Boston College to bring the Four-Time National Champion Eagles to 98.5 The Sports Hub on Friday nights." Added Mike Thomas, Vice President of Programming for 98.5 The Sports Hub. "This is a perfect fit to add to our overall coverage of hockey on the Sports Hub, to go along with Boston Bruins Hockey and The Hockey Show Wednesday nights at 6pm. Boston is truly a unique city full of passionate hockey fans and we're very happy to now air Boston College games Friday nights throughout the season."
