Police: Drunk Driver Challenged Officer To Pushup Contest
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- A Dalton man is facing drunken driving charges after allegedly crashing into another vehicle, doing doughnuts in his damaged car, then challenging the responding officer to a pushup contest.
Brian Lee pleaded not guilty on Monday in Central Berkshire District Court to charges including fourth-offense drunken driving.
Police say the 43-year-old Lee ran two red lights at 60 miles per hour and crashed into another car just after midnight Saturday.
No one was hurt.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that a witness said Lee started spinning his car in circles.
When police arrived to give Lee a field sobriety test, he allegedly challenged the officer to a pushup contest.
The officer refused.
Lee says he thought he hit a curb and not another vehicle.
